The games in this three-day event were played under ideal weather conditions, if a bit cool. Our summer-ending event lived up to expectations and the court was in perfect shape. This year only eighteen players competed and from all observations, all had a very good time. Food and refreshments complimented the games throughout thanks to Peggy Towner, with Miller Realty providing the morning warm up coffee and pastry to get us started. Mike Kost provided invaluable advice in the planning leading up to the event, in managing the time clock for all the games, and, most importantly, in brewing the coffee. Gloria Bensch kept things moving smoothly.

Don't miss the event details after the photos.
Forecasts of rain for Friday led to a last-minute schedule change for the elimination games, moving them from Friday to Thursday afternoon.
Each person who entered the tournament played five games spread over a full day on Wednesday and on Thursday morning. The results from these games, wins / losses and net wickets scored, were used to put together teams that were seeded in the single elimination phase of the tournament. Everyone played in the elimination games, and the quarter finals ended just as the traditional social hour began. At this point. with shadows beginning to cover the court, the players opted to complete the match rather than finishing the semifinal and final games on another day.
In the semi-final games, Bob and Michele just got by Terry Hunt and Joyce Nadge (5-4), and John and Betty beat Ron Jordan and “Sassy” Pat Linder (4-1).
Thank you to everyone who played and to everyone who worked to make the event a success, especially with court setup and clean up.
